Soundcard:
The sound hardware build into the mobo was not recognised - I haven't managed to tell what it is. The Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS I added (after OS installation) was recognised at the next boot time.

Memory:
I added 512 Mb to the 128 Mb already present.

List of packages that on brief examination probably involve sound capabilities.

I didn't get this to use my soundcard - I tried several different cards. In the end I updated my main desktop to a version of SuSE that contains Rosegarden and Hydrogen and some other stuff so I probably won't spend any more time on startcom.

RoseGarden:
I need to learn how to use this. Graphical interfaces are usually terrible.
